Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says that Activision was lucky that the Modern Warfare 3 leak happened so close to the date of the official reveal. Last week, Hirshberg said that Activision had been able to turn the leak into an opportunity, but it seems that had it been any earlier, then the situation might have been very different. In an email to Activision employees, Hirshberg said that the difference between the leak and the official reveal was just a week, so Activision had lots of promotional material ready to go.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a back-to-basics experiment that follows Basim, a quick-witted assassin living in the golden age of Baghdad. Developer Ubisoft Bordeaux, which originally pitched the project as DLC for Valhalla, has propped it up as a stealth adventure with a gameplay loop that demands and incentivizes a tactical approach. The trailer above is pretty visceral to say the least. In fact, BioWare’s marketing director, David Silverman, said that that Mass Effect 3 was the best game that the developer has ever made at its Edmonton office.

Mass Effect: Andromeda developer BioWare has released a statement via Twitter today regarding a transgender character from the game. Hainly Abrams, the character in question, is a scientist encountered in a minor side-quest within the game. When prompted about her past, she reveals to the player character that she used to be a man named “Stephan”. BioWare apologizes for her implementation, saying that she was “not included in a thoughtful or caring way”.
