I think if there were fewer barriers to experiment with game development, that overall we’d so more innovation in gaming. Just like music, there’d be people trying experiments for the joy of it and not to sell the most units. Elements of some of them would become popular, and we’d see many of those ideas and notions used in the mainstream games. We already see this happening in games, through game mods and UI mods being integrated into widely published works (WoW UI mods being adopted into the Blizzard UI, and then into other games, for example).
It would have been pretty difficult to be worse than 2014’s Godzilla, and thank our lucky stars that Kong: Skull Island never sinks to that level of tedium and boredom. Here we have a very expensive monster movie that doesn’t have any pretenses about being anything more than a very expensive monster movie – except that it also has to kind of, sort of, continue to establish the very expensive giant monster movie universe.
We’re down to the last ten hours of voting for the Reader’s Choice Game of the Year 2013 tournament bracket and there’s some crazy developments. Sure, some of the matchups have been predictable – such as Call of Duty: Ghosts not doing terribly well against BioShock: Infinite and The Last of Us handily beating Super Mario 3D World – but there are a lot of tight races still to be decided today.
Rex Fury and Forrest Blackwell escaped to their Moonbase to enjoy a life outside the LEGO City PD’s jurisdiction, but little did they know — Chase doesn’t give up so easily. After a quick stop to the Apollo Space Center, Chase constructs a shuttle and arrives all the way on the moon. Blackwell and his cronies won’t make things easy. This is it. The final chapter of LEGO City: Undercover.
Brachyura Boogie is the title, and this is yet another completely custom, unique piece of music created solely for this Zombies DLC map. That’s a lot of strangeness to accept, so if you want to listen to Elvira’s singing voice, just scroll down and click on the video right now. Otherwise, you can unlock the track and play it for your friends in the map itself while playing online. Instead of teddy bears or any of that other stuff, you’ll be tracking down collectible vinyl records.
Sometimes it’s enough to change out the pieces and let them go through what would otherwise be a fairly typical story. On paper, there isn’t a whole lot that Little Sister does differently from its contemporaries. “Girl comes home and family dysfunction occurs” basically sums up its entire premise. But films like this one get but – and sometimes do so much more than that – because of the details, and by making the various players atypical.
Members of this site (and dark fantasy enjoyers in general) have been keeping tabs on this project for quite a while, so I ventured into the Entropy-ridden land of Faelduum thanks to Mandragora’s last preview build ahead of its April 17 launch. This wasn’t my first rodeo, however. I’d already played the demo released late last year, so I was eager to find out how the good stuff could feel even better and whether its rougher edges had been smoothed out ahead of the long-anticipated full release.
Round 4 brought us some great match-ups that crowned division champions and brings us the Fearsome Four. Out of the 4 divisions, three number 1 seeds made it all the way through: Blizzard, BioWare and Valve. In the West division however, the tournament Cinderella and first time competitor Mojang took out Obsidian and is now headed to its first Fearsome Four.
Fearsome Four Match-ups Blizzard versus BioWare With massive amounts of fans supporting each of these developers, this match-up will be one for the ages.
The original plans for Mass Effect 1 were much more ambitious than what appeared in the final product. BioWare had wanted online multiplayer functionality, vaster worlds, and dialogue interrupts, all of which Andromeda enjoys. Combat went through considerable trial and error before settling on its third-person shooter design as well. BioWare also took a while to find its way with the narrative, and there’s an emphasis on heavy-handed moral choices based around racism that make you a clearly awful person if you go Renegade.
Zander Brandt, the guy who put together the amazing M-29 Incisor rifle we showed you back in October, is back in action and this time he’s brought some serious Mass Effect firepower to the party: the M-96 Mattock heavy rifle, a semiautomatic assault weapon the offers the low heat production of an assault rifle and the punch of a sniper rifle. Brandt’s version doesn’t actually produce any heat – it’s made of wood – and although it could probably mess you up pretty good if someone clobbered you in the face with it, the relevant point to our story is that it looks fantastic.
BioWare has announced that the first demo for Mass Effect 3 will be available for download on XBLA, PSN, and PC from the 14th of February 2012. The demo will allow players to experience the full game’s Reaper-infested opening sequence as either male or female Shepard. Players will be able to unlock special content for the demo by playing the demo for Kingdoms of Amalur, which debuted on the 17th of January.
Boss: Sogne the Icebound You can’t actually explore the Royal Academy in Metaphor: ReFantazio, and landing in that area will immediately trigger a boss fight with Rella and a dragon. The dragon itself isn’t too tough, as you can easily exploit its weakness to Fire and get extra turn icons. As long as your characters aren’t vulnerable to Slash or Ice damage, you shouldn’t be in any serious danger. The problem is that Rella can cast Quartz Wall on the dragon, which blocks all elemental attacks, which will cause this fight to drag out longer.
https://twitter.com/aItamarquez/status/1167009432556847104 The tweets were found by The Witcher TV show-focused Redanian Intelligence, who confirmed that Giovanni Eūgene Altamarquéz is in executive production at Netflix and has worked on shows like Queer Eye, Mindhunter, and 13 Reasons Why. Why he’s randomly dropping information on The Witcher release date isn’t so clear, but Netflix has already said that the show will be dropping in Q4 of this year, so this is definitely within that window.
While DICE has us playing the waiting game for more Battlefield 4 DLC, EA and Visceral have a new look at Battlefield: Hardline’s urban- and chase-focused gameplay. Headline jokes aside? Hardline certainly draws some influence from the likes of Fast & Furious, Need for Speed, and maybe a dash of Heat. Regardless of influence, Hardline is eschewing most of what makes the Battlefield franchise so popular (64-player combat, massive maps, military themes), for a very different look.
The May 31 release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s upcoming Blood and Wine expansion is approaching, and today CD Projekt Red released a new trailer, called “New Region,” which shows off the stunning new setting, Toussaint. The new region features lovely vineyards, interesting people, and, of course, monsters. Because it is The Witcher. From the video description: “Become professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia and explore Toussaint, a remote land untouched by war, where you will unravel the horrifying secret behind a beast terrorizing the kingdom.
CD Projekt Red has put another big Witcher 2 patch out the door and while it’s not normally my business to make noise every time a game is updated, The Witcher 2 gets special attention because this isn’t just a patch, it’s DLC, too! The new 1.3 update brings several improvements including tweaks to the Prologue difficulty level, support for a wider range of aspect ratios, HUD-free screenshots, better support for 3D Vision, SLI and Crossfire, and a pile of other changes and fixes.

Less than two weeks ago, Blizzard announced that seven million people were playing Overwatch. Yesterday, the company took to Twitter to celebrate an even bigger milestone: 10 million players. Overwatch has taken the gaming world by storm, with players putting in thousands of hours, showing off awesome cosplay, and even building a site to help players find groups. For Blizzard’s part, they’ve already started smacking down cheaters, penalizing match-quitters, and rolling out balance patches.
