ME3’s multiplayer sends you to the front line in the intergalactic war against the Reapers, but doesn’t really have much of a story other than setting you up as a member of a special forces unit completing tasks on the side to help the war effort. The particularly interesting aspect of the multiplayer is how it affects the single player campaign and your Shepard’s ability to take on the Reapers.

Let me be clear right from the get-go that I’ve just started playing Mass Effect 3, so I have no idea how it ends. But the howls of outrage are impossible to miss; for whatever reason, an awful lot of gamers seem mighty unhappy about the way the trilogy wraps up. For the most part it’s just forum noise, but one fan decided to actually do something about it by launching Retake Mass Effect – Child’s Play, a combination petition/donation drive which is equal parts silly and solid.

Sam Wilson steps out of Steve Rogers’ shadow in the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Brave New World, embracing his role as the Star Spangled Man. However, Sam doesn’t leave everything in the past. In fact, near the end of the film, he receives a pep talk from Bucky Barnes, who’s found a new calling. While the marketing for Thunderbolts* teases that Bucky is getting into politics, Brave New World outright confirms it, with Bucky having to leave Sam behind for a congressional campaign event.

Miss Sloane is the lobbyist version of House of Cards. Our protagonist is a morals-be-damned woman whose only goal is to achieve victory, doing so through whatever means necessary – whether that means manipulating people close to her, withholding information, or finding as many political loopholes as possible. In other words, she games a broken and, in large part, corrupt system – all while masterminding a grand plan to reach the end goal.

When it comes to big-budget modern gaming, it doesn’t get much bigger than Activision’s Call of Duty series. Of course, not everybody is playing COD, which doesn’t jibe with the publisher’s eventual goal of world domination. If you’re one of the people who hasn’t played Modern Warfare 3, Activision and Steam are making the multiplayer free to play all this coming weekend. The Modern Warfare 3 free weekend starts at 1 PM Eastern (10 AM Pacific, 6 PM UK) tomorrow, Thursday the 26th.

PC gamers have another reason to be excited about the upcoming Modern Warfare 3, as Infinity Ward’s creative strategist Robert Bowling has confirmed that the game will support LAN play, as well as other features useful for competitive play. Posting on Twitter, Bowling said that as well as LAN support, Modern Warfare 3 would also feature “detailed class restriction control,” and “default class creation option.” This, when combined with the full support for player-run dedicated servers, makes MW3 a very – and perhaps unusually – PC friendly game.

I would feel bad for people who ignored the audiologs in Bioshock. Diane McClintock’s story (for example) had a cool arc that matched the locations you visited. Some of my favourite characters in that game have zero screen time. – copycatalyst I may have over-read that, but there is another “advantage” to audiologs: You save a lot of work. I’m just thinking about the one Audiolog in Bioshock where (not really a spoiler imo) you listen to the audiolog a girl makes on New Years Eve, where, in the middle of a party, a huge explosion rocks the place.

16 new properties are making their way to LEGO Dimensions, including Harry Potter, Sonic, The Goonies, Ghostbusters, and Beetlejuice, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group announced today. According to the press release the packs will begin launching on September 30, starting with the Ghostbusters Story Pack, Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible Level Packs, Harry Potter and Adventure TimeTeam Packs, and The A-Team Fun Pack. Additional packs include Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Goonies, Sonic The Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go!

July 2020’s PS Plus Games Revealed Like clockwork, we just got word of next month’s PS Plus games, courtesy of the PlayStation.Blog. Coinciding with the subscription’s 10th anniversary, July 2020’s lineup of games will be a bit meatier and will include NBA 2K20, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and a third game, Erica, all for PS4. These games will be available to download at no additional cost to PS Plus subscribers from July 7 – Aug.

Call of Duty: Warzone & Modern Warfare Season Six Goes Live Tomorrow Today, we got a closer look at what to expect from Call of Duty: Warzone Season Six. It will launch tonight at 11 p.m. PT and include a host of new features, including a new subway system added to Verdansk, a limited-time mode called Armored Royale, new weapons, and a slew of maps for Modern Warfare‘s multiplayer. As with all seasonal content, this update will be free and is available to pre-load onto your systems right now.

The Good and the Bad Parts of MW3 (Some, Anyway) Bad news first: MW3 is essentially a massive expansion for Modern Warfare 2 (2022). The perks are much the same: the guns handle similarly, the Gunsmith is still terrible, and the killstreaks are as unsatisfying as any recent CoD. MW3 couldn’t even lean into the punch of streaks from MW2 (2009), opting instead to neuter them even further to make gunplay and movement the center of the experience.

Part of me thinks that’s just fine, since Pathologic 2 is absolutely not for everyone, but I also believe it deserves much more recognition than it got. Because once you turn the difficulty down (I don’t advise this often, but turn it all the way down.) and get over the uneven performance, you are left with a singularly fascinating experiment in what I’m going to call “method role-playing.” To understand what I mean here, consider a typical role-playing game like Baldur’s Gate or The Witcher.

Quaquaval’s Weaknesses & Resistances in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Anyone looking to participate in a 7-Star Raid must know what they’re getting themselves into. However, since Scarlet & Violet‘s latest event is based around a starter, it’s pretty easy to figure out the weaknesses. Quaquaval, of course, is a Water/Fighting type, which means its weaknesses are Electric-, Grass-, Fairy-, Flying-, and Psychic-type attacks. It’s also important to keep in mind that Quaquaval is a Water Tera type during the raid, meaning Electric and Grass-type moves will be most effective.

That being said, the long-awaited trading system was absolutely terrible when it first got implemented. Trade Tokens were scarce, and it was incredibly expensive to trade cards with other players. Not to mention the fact that you couldn’t trade cards from the newest expansion or booster pack. The community has not been shy in making their complaints known, and it looks like DeNA is listening. The developers announced today that Trade Tokens will be removed, and players will only need to use Shinedust for trading.

Sony has announced that it is cutting the price of the PSP Go in Japan and the United States in time for the holidays. The US price will drop from $249 to $199, and the Japanese price will drop from ¥26,800 to ¥16,800. As yet, there’s no mention of a price cut in any other territories. The PSP Go launched a year ago, and has seemingly found little success since then.

While currently riding high on an unbroken string of box-office megahits, Marvel Studios has a potential problem looming in their future: The multi-film contracts of almost all of the actors who portray The Avengers are rapidly running out. Once they do, the stars would be in position to renegotiate new contracts – which could lead to expensive, budget-busting pay-raises. Last week, a popular rumor suggested that Marvel might try to extend their stars’ commitments by splitting Avengers: Age of Ultron into two films – but it’s technically illegal to pay actors for one movie and turn it into two afterwards.

The gear you unlock with amiibo in Splatoon 2 is exclusive to each amiibo, so you won’t be able to get these outfits any other way.

I suppose it says something for Netflix’s release strategy that a movie like Small Crimes is on the radar at all. While it has some names in the cast – Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Macon Blair, Jacki Weaver, Pat Healy, and Robert Forster – it feels very much like the type of film that wouldn’t find an audience if that audience couldn’t watch it for what’s essentially free. At least, they aren’t going to incur an additional cost.
