Today’s Free Game in the Epic Games Store

Like the Epic Games Store’s weekly free games, once you claim these games, they’re yours to keep. How awesome is that? The catch is that the Epic Games Store’s daily free games are only available for a day. They drop at 11am ET / 8 am PT / 4pm GMT and if you don’t claim them by that time the next day, they’re gone. At least, that was the case with the daily giveaways. Now that the final game, Hell Let Loose, has dropped, it’ll be available right up until January 9th. Epic appears to count both Hell Let Loose and Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria as part of the giveaway, making for 16 games in total.

Developer / Publisher: Team 17 War? What is good for? In the case of the online-only Hell Let Loose, it’s the perfect setup for a 50v50 squad-based game, with players vying for supremacy across a range of war-pocked locations. Picking one of several roles, Officer, Spotter, Medic, Tank Commander and more, you’ll team up with your fellow allies in an authentic WWII-era online FPS. However, as Andrei Pechalin remarked, don’t expect to feel like a complete badass. In ‘New Narrative’, Andrei, he explained that by “…focusing on large-scale encounters, heavy controls, slow action, and near one-shot kills, Hell Let Loose tries to recognize the vulnerability and dispensability of the individual in a conflict that claimed 85,000,000 lives.” So if you’re used to Call of Duty-style conflict where it’s one small squad against another, be prepared to feel pretty insignificant.
