The Witcher Nightmare Of The Wolf Trailer Dives Deeper In Witcher Lore

The upcoming film takes place well before The Witcher series as it tells the tale of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir and how he came to be a witcher alongside some of his other exploits. The Nightmare of the Wolf trailer seems to hint that the series will be as much about him as fleshing out the lore of the witchers themselves. Vesemir will battle not just monsters but challenges from those whom he defends from the monsters (for cash, of course), and a new power is rising in the Continent that is set to not just change Vesemir but the entire world. The trailer also shows us where Geralt got his knack for hanging out in bathtubs looking sexy. The animated show’s voice cast includes Theo James as Vesemir, Lara Pulver as Tetra, Graham McTavish as Deglan, and Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst. The animation may look familiar to fans of Avatar as the studio behind the film is Studio MIR, which produced The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s own Voltron series. This will not be the only Witcher we hear from as the second season of the Henry Cavill-starring series is getting ready to go. We got a taste for that at last month’s WitcherCon, along with a ton of other stuff, though no mention of The Witcher: Blood Origin. This is definitely a franchise that is going to expand even further.
